Bye bye birdies

Have you noticed how three out of four eliminated teams in the Divisional weekend were birds? By now they should be well-cooked and served around the country with delicious gravy...And then came the Pats, and whether they were hungry too, or intimidated by all the trash talk, or whatever the reason was, they did not play at their usual level. What a bad timing for Tom Brady to throw a pick after 340 passes without one. What a day for Mark Sanchez and his receivers! Even L.T. pitched in with his first reception touchdown since 2008! Bye bye Patriots. Now the Jets have to beat the "Steel Curtain"...Easier said than done.
Every team remaining is one step away from the Super Bowl, every one of them has a fierce game to play.
Pittsburgh is celebrating because they won against their least favorite team, and now, the NFC Championship will be the same situation. The Ravens dominated the first half of Saturday's game, it looked like an easy win from there on, but no, turnovers came around and suddenly the game was tied. And Baltimore ran out of gas and Rashard Mendenhall scored the last points of the game thus making the score 31-24. Bye bye Ravens.

In Atlanta, there were fans ready to crowd the I-20 on the road to Dallas, but along came Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to score 48 points, and make it seem easy, even when the score seemed pretty even in the first half; kick return TD courtesy of Eric Weems, Green Bay never stopped fighting for every yard and scored...and again...and again. Bye bye Falcons.
So, Sunday...Snowy Chicago welcomed the Seahawks again at Soldier Field with the first 28 points unanswered. Then the Seahawks tried their best, but the Bears' defense and Jay Cutler's accuracy kept the lead with a final 35-24 score. Cutler's debut in the playoffs was not to shabby, with 4 TD's (2 passes, 2 rushes) and no turnovers, in fact, the only intercepted pass in the game was one thrown by Matt Forte...right. He's probably still doing push-ups thanks to Tillman's display for the coaches and reminder of old school football. Bye bye Seahawks.
Sad weekend for poultry. And then, they were four. We're ready for Championship weekend. More on that, later this week.
